The Benefits of an ACCO E6
The ACCO is an IVECO truck with a long and rich history in Australia, having been developed for the Australian Army, in the post-World War II years, as the country’s first locally designed and manufactured truck.
Launched in 2019, the ACCO E6 is the latest iteration of the much-loved ACCO truck range. Now manufactured at IVECO’s advanced European manufacturing facility, this heavy-duty and high-performance truck has a wide range of benefits for fleet owners, including:
Built for heavy-duty
The ACCO E6 is designed to withstand tough and demanding working conditions. It has been designed and manufactured for a range of industrial applications and is commonly used for compactor, hook lift bin and concrete applications (Cleanaway has been utilising ACCO trucks for many years now). Current models of the ACCO E6 include 6x4 single control, 6x4 factory dual control and 8x4 single control.
A key feature of the ACCO E6 is its Allison Generation Five 3200 Series, 6-speed fully automatic transmission, which is particularly suited for demanding vocational work that requires stop and start cycles such as waste collection applications and concrete agitator work. This transmission features a Chelsea/Parker Power Take Offer with a 0.93 ratio and pump mounting bracket (available for dual control models only). A hydraulic retarder is an optional feature as well.
Low emission engine
Many businesses are currently putting a strong emphasis on lowering their vehicle and other emissions and this is certainly being factored into their purchasing decisions. The ACCO Euro 6 has an 8.7-litre ‘Cursor 9’ engine fitted with IVECO’s patented Hi-eSCR emission control system.
“The Hi-eSCR is a single after-treatment system featuring a passive DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) meaning that regeneration does not require driver intervention. Compared to EGR and SCR equivalents, Hi-eSCR uses less fuel, is lighter (providing for a lower tare weight) and does not have additional cooling requirements,” shared Brian Vernon - Product Manager at AV Truck Sevices.
“The ACCO E6 adheres to strict Euro 6 emission requirements,” he added.
Plenty of safety features
The ACCO E6 is equipped with a number of safety features to protect the driver and other road users. This includes an electronic braking system (EBS) with a brake assistance system (BAS), adaptive cruise control (ACC), an electronic stability program (ESP) and an anti-skid regulator.
Several other features are available as optional extras, including a lane departure warning system (LDWS) which warns the driver if they unintentionally veer from their lane, driver attention support (DAS) that checks the driver’s level of attention by analysing steering wheel movements and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) that alerts if any issues are detected.
Driver comfort
The comfort of the driver and passenger is extremely important to IVECO, and it is taken into account during the design and manufacture stage of all IVECO trucks. The ACCO E6 comes with a spacious cabin area, with ample storage areas. The ACCO E6 also features Automatic Climate Control, an intuitive dashboard layout, an ISRI air suspension seat for the driver and passenger as well as a Radio/CD MP3 player with Bluetooth and steering wheel-mounted controls.
IVECO factory warranty
All new IVECO ACCO Trucks come with a 24-month, 500,000klm, 6,000hrs factory warranty for added peace of mind. This warranty is intended to protect customers from any defects in workmanship and materials.
